About Martin Geddes
Martin is a British computer scientist based near London.
Over the years I have become adept at pulling apart belief systems and finding where they are deficient. This started with a childhood that involved one parent in a religious cult. In my professional role as a telecoms expert, I have worked on paradigm change in both the technical and policy spaces.

I happen to have a degree in Mathematics and Computation from the University of Oxford. Logical thinking is important, but insufficient. In a maze of deception, you also need to be able to unlearn, and recognise you have been fooled. This is an emotional skill, as it means dealing with a hurt ego and the loss of the “feeling of knowing”.
I am also a keen amateur photographer, and take great pleasure in finding the beauty in ordinary scenes which others may fail to observe or capture.

WWG1WGA: THE GREATEST COMMUNICATIONS EVENT IN HISTORY

I wrote this article in the summer of 2018 for my Future of Communications newsletter — free subscription here. I subsequently republished it on Medium, where it gained a wide interest, reaching over a quarter of a million hits.
The topic of QAnon has been a controversial one, and Medium “deplatformed” me (and other writers on this subject) in March of 2019. This removed all of my content, nearly all of which was on uncontroversial topics, and they have not responded to any emails.
There has been a deafening silence from my liberal-minded friends over this overt act of censorship. Hence I am reproducing the article here, on a website that I am paying to put up and that I also control. I hope you find it a valuable read.
